“Rescuing a Bad Boy was an anticipated read for me…Unfortunately, it did not live to my expectations”
~ Under the Covers
Rescuing a Bad Boy was an anticipated read for me. I could not wait to get my hands on it, and when I did, I read it right away. Unfortunately, it did not live to my expectations. The storyline was good, the writing was great, but the hero was a jerk and has done something that is, in my opinion beyond forgiveness.
Seven years passed, but Sophie still remembers the heartache she felt when she lost her virginity to Donovan. He used her and left her with no word. Now, he is back in town to arrange the sale of his grandmother’s property. But first, he agrees to have a scheduled event to take place as the property’s last hurrah. This event will reunite him with Sophie reigniting the attraction they felt years before. Forgive and forget is the only way they will survive a friendship or relationship.
Sadly, I couldn’t do it. I couldn’t forgive him for what he’s done to Sophie. I thought he was an arrogant ass. I wish he owned up to his mistake without making excuses. Instead, he stuck with his reasoning and expected Sophie to understand. Lucky for him, She took the time to understand him. I think she could’ve made him work a little harder. I wasn’t happy that she had already slept with him even before calling him out on what had happened in the past. There were some things that Donovan did to change for the better and make amends. I give him that. Unfortunately, he just never won me back. =(
Please note that despite, my dislike for the hero, it does not affect my opinion of this author. Her writing is excellent, and I plan to continue reading her books. In fact, I recently finished A Bad Boy for Christmas, the next installment in this series, and I’m glad to report that it was a much better read.
