If you’re a fan of this series then you may already be familiar with Kimber Breeze’s character. She’s a hotshot reporter who has gotten in the way of Carmela a few times in this series. Just when Carmela is set to do an interview with her on a balcony above some Mardi Gras festivities below, Kimber dies. In fact, she’s hung from the balcony and placed on display for all the party people below to see. So as you can probably tell, this book is an absolute win already with its premise. Not only was I dying to know what happened to Kimber, but it sure will attract new readers from that premise alone.

But to make things even more juicy is the fact that Carmela is now receiving postcards from Kimber after her death. How is this possible? Is this some prank? Why is Carmela receiving this creepy letters? All this and more is answered in the book and let me tell you, it’s executed so well. I think that next to CREPE FACTOR this might be my second favorite book of the series. It is just filled with juicy tidbits that make the curious cat in me stand on my toes. This book had be questioning everything left and right, while also making me fall deeper in love with Carmela and her friends.

This series is just so fun and if you like a little more lively action in your cozy mysteries, then you definitely need to check out this book.
