“Everything begins and ends with Peter Kavinsky.”
~ Under the Covers

P.S. I STILL LOVE YOU is the second book in the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before series by Jenny Han. I know she wrote this book because of the success of the first book in the series and I’m glad she did because I couldn’t stop thinking about these characters after I finished the first book. The first book ends a little open-ended so I knew that there had to be much more to Lara Jean and Peter. While overall I enjoyed this story, there is quite a difference between this book and the first.

Lara Jean’s innocence is put to the test with this book. P.S. I STILL LOVE YOU has a lot more scandal and drama to it. While the first book was sweet and charming, this one has some nasty scenes in it that will make you feel for these characters. Jealously and seduction come into play here, making for a very juicy read. However, I still preferred the first book to this one, just because I think the events were a little more organic and true to Lara Jean’s character. With this book, she is placed out of her comfort zone, resulting in a lot of cringe-worthy scenes.

I want to say this here because when the third book comes out, I want to make it known that I’m still Team Peter. He’s not perfect as much as he thinks he is but there’s something I find endearing about his character. It’s the little things that I love about him the most, the small remarks he makes about Lara Jean’s hair or the fact that remembers some offhand comment she made a long time ago. It shows he cares and I think it’s really sweet.

The new guy in this story is very much the perfect man for Lara Jean. If he was introduced earlier in the series, there’s a great possibility that I would choose him instead. But after everything that has happened with her and Peter, I don’t think I can see Lara Jean with anyone else. Everything begins and ends with Peter Kavinsky.

For this entire series, I listened to the audiobook and I think it’s worthy mentioning that I love the narrator for it. I think she does a great job of doing the guy’s voices but also capturing that whining that teens are good at. You can really believe that it’s Lara Jean you’re listening to. Plus, when she reads the love letters she puts a lot of heartfelt emotion in it that I love.

I hate having to wait for the next book in the series. But until that releases, I’ll definitely be reading the other Jenny Han series. I’m hoping it’s just as fun and endearing as this one.
