This book came highly recommended by several of my friends. It’s a biker contemporary so I knew I wanted to read it right away. What I wasn’t expecting was the interesting characters, the fun dialogue and the engaging writing.

There was really one thing about this book that made me love it above all else – it’s the heroine, Lilli. Lilli doesn’t take shit from anyone, especially not a biker who seems to enjoy chasing her. She comes from a very dark past, but despite that, you don’t get the sense that she is weighed down by it. The emotions are still very much present, but I believe it’s because of her dark past that makes her so strong now. She fights her own battles and when trouble comes in the form of the President of the Night Horde Motorcycle Club, well, Lilli doesn’t cower in his presence, but manages to stand at his side, making her a badass all on her own.

Isaac is an intriguing character. Sexy, enigmatic and powerful, he runs Signal Bend, Missouri very well.  The club he is a part of does have its fingers in some shady areas but just as a reminder, this is a biker book you’re reading. If you wanted the nice and fluffy stuff, then this isn’t where you should be looking.

That being said, there’s quite a lot of unapologetic sex in this book. A LOT of sex happens and while it’s damn hot, it’s also overshadows a little bit of the plot and the character development as well. I would have loved to read more actions scenes because with Lilli involved, it’s so fun to read.

I’m glad I found this author because I think Fanetti has a fun voice and she creates a wonderful balance in Isaac, who can be both dangerous and romantic. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series!

About Susan Fanetti

My fanfic penname at FanFiction and AO3 is laughingwarrior. All my fanfic is in the Sons of Anarchy fandom, and it’s all erotic biker romance. Sex and action. I like things messy.

Having done rather a lot of research on MCs and the club life–research far beyond the limits of the SOA ‘verse–and being rather partial to hot, rough men in ink and leather, my original work does not yet stray far from that world. Still writing biker romance, but now I’m writing entirely in a world of my own imagination.

I’m a Midwestern native transplanted to California, where I live with my husband, youngest son, and our three cats.

  1. I haven’t read any biker books mostly because of the shady dealings….but I’ve heard the sex scenes are really good ….thanks annie

  2. I’ve got this on my kindle in the TBR pile. I just finished Reaper’s Property by Joanna Wylde yesterday so I needed another MC book.
