“As a rabid fan of this series, I loved this book but I also believe fans of the non-rabid variety would also enjoy it. It has enough adventure to keep it interesting and enough sexy times to keep it exciting. ” ~ Under the Covers
Mina has now been married to the Iron Duke for eight months, eight of the happiest months of her life. But, each day she can see the stress and worry on his face when she leaves to work and all the potential dangers that entails. Especially as their is a new murderer in town, with strange and mysterious means of killing his victims and Mina and Newberry are on the case.
This novella takes place after the events of The Iron Duke allowing us a glimpse in to the married live of Mina and Rhys, the aforementioned Duke and allows us not only to see how they are getting along, but also to follow Mina once again as she works a case. As a rabid fan of this series, I loved this book but I also believe fans of the non-rabid variety would also enjoy it. It has enough adventure to keep it interesting and enough sexy times to keep it exciting.
What I liked most was seeing Rhys open up more, we get to see a bit more of the man behind the Iron Duke facade as he becomes more comfortable with his emotions, not only his love for Mina, but for their adopted daughter Anna and his best friend Scarsdale. All of this gave the book sweet edge, which had me sighing into my cuppa as I read.
A great addition to the Iron Seas series but it is worth reading at least The Iron Duke, before you read this to give you a better understanding of the characters and the world. I now can’t wait to continue on with the series and see what Meljean Brook has in store next.

Thank you for the review and reading order. I have a couple of these on my wish list. Not to thrilled that book 4 is a serial, though.
Thanks for another great review of this series Suzanne
Wow, how come I’ve never heard of this? I recently won an Amazon gift card. I already had stuff picked out, but now I’ll have to spend it on this series. 🙂 Thanks.
