“Short and sexy, this novella is a great read if you need a pick-me-up or if you want to dip your toes in some Sci Fi Erotica.”

As the first story in the Life in the Vrail series by Marie Harte, LURIN’S SURRENDER is a red hot read that delivers on the sci fi as much as it sizzles. As a fan of Harte’s Contemporaries, I want to go ahead and try her other books. She has a huge backlist collection in various genres but since I needed a Sci Fi book for a challenge I’m doing on our Goodreads group, I picked this one.
LURIN’S SURRENDER is a novella that packs quite the punch. Not only is it a really hot red, but it also has a lot of tremendous worldbuilding. Although this is the first in the series, I’ll admit I was a tiny bit lost in the very beginning. It’s definitely heavy on the Sci Fi even though there is a good amount of Romance in it so that required some adjusting. However, once I was in the midst of things, it was much easier to get into. I really liked the heroine, Mara, but I do feel like Lurin took a little longer to warm up to. I think it’s because Mara shields herself so much that Lurin really need to work to break down those defenses. But since I love a strong heroine, I really liked Mara’s personality.
Short and sexy, this novella is a great read if you need a pick-me-up or if you want to dip your toes in some Sci Fi Erotica.
