“The Immortal Warriors are bad ass and mysterious. Just how I like my alpha men.” ~Under the Covers
I read this book in 2009 when it was originally published with the title MY IMMORTAL. It was my first taste of J.K. Coi and I had enjoyed it! Then I saw that the series, IMMORTAL WARRIORS, was being re-released through Ellora’s Cave. First, it’s exciting to see the series being widely available again, and second… I couldn’t remember one thing about what happened in this book. So I had to read this re-release again!
The Immortal Warriors are bad ass and mysterious. Just how I like my alpha men. The basic concept of these immortals is that there are a few chosen people that are genetically predisposed to becoming an immortal and when an immortal dies, they “activate” that, whatever that is, and go through their transition.
Rhys and his men are fighting a rogue immortal of sorts that is after killing them all and in the process he meets Amy, a human doctor with quite a bit of spunk. While he is immediately attracted to her, and of course she’s attracted to the bad boy wearing leather, he wants to keep her away from him and his world of war and death. But faith had something different in mind because as it turns out Amy might just be right in the middle of the action.
This story has bad boys galore that you just want to read all about them, and a great concept, which sort of reminds me of the Wings in the Night immortals by Maggie Shayne. Rhys is a hot and sexy hero, if you’re like me and love a rough around the edges, leader, bad boy.
Since I don’t really remember the original story and I didn’t write reviews back then, if anyone has read these and knows if there were changes, I’d love to hear about it.
Can’t wait for the next book to be re-released! Yes, I have read the old version but I actually remember that one because it was more recent.
