It’s extremely shallow of me, but what attracted me to this book was the cover. I love a quirky cover and then I was intrigued by the equally quirky blurb and title. I have read Molly Harper before and I do enjoy her blend of the paranormal and humour, and this book was no different.Mo Wenstein has moved to Grundy, Alaska to get away from her interfering hippy parents and start a new life for herself. One particular resident of Grundy, Cooper who happens to be an alpha werewolf in exile, isn’t to pleased about her relocation, even if he can’t seem to keep away from her.
This was one of those reads where you can curl up on the sofa with some chocolate and a cup of tea and escape for a while. It was fun and lighthearted and keeps you laughing. If you want to read a PNR with a lighter bent, then this is the book to pick.
It is told in first person from Mo’s POV, which normally I don’t like unless it is an Urban Fantasy, but I found I loved to camp out in Mo’s head and see what she was thinking, this book is choc full of funny and witty quotes. As for Cooper, I did like him, he was cute and gruff and a little bit sulky at times, which I found kind of sweet, but he wasn’t someone who made me drool. However, Mo and Cooper did make a good couple, I loved that Mo didn’t take any of his BS and also that she took the werewolf thing in her stride, in fact she took it a little too well and figured it out really quickly.
There was also a plot of a wolf attacking citizens of Grundy, which Cooper thought was him as the the only werewolf in town, but I thought it was fairly easy to figure out who was doing it, so I thought that part of the book was weak. But, what was good was that although this is a romance book, it focused equally on how Mo settled in to the town and the other people she built relationships with as well as Cooper.
A great read, and I can’t wait to get stuck into the next one.

About Molly Harper
When Molly Harper was eight years old, she set up a “writing office” in her parents’ living room, complete with an old manual typewriter and a toy phone. And she (very slowly) pecked out the story of her third-grade class taking a trip around the world and losing a kid in each city. She had a dark sense of humor even then.
When Molly was considerably older, she headed for Western Kentucky University, where she majored in print journalism. After graduation, she landed a job with The Paducah Sun and married her high school sweetheart, David, a local police officer. After six years at the newspaper, Molly took a more family-friendly secretarial position at a local church office.
A big fan of vampire movies and TV shows, she decided to write a vampire romance novel. Molly created Jane Jameson, a bit of an accidental loser. Jane is single, almost 30, and a librarian working in Half-Moon Hollow, Ky. She has become a permanent fixture on her Mama’s prayer list. And despite the fact that she’s pretty good at her job, she just got canned so her boss could replace her with someone who occasionally starts workplace fires. Jane drowns her sorrows at the local faux nostalgia-themed sports bar. On her way home, she’s mistaken for a deer and shot by a drunk hunter. And then she wakes up as a vampire. The three-book Jane Jameson series–which includes Nice Girls Don’t Have Fangs,Nice Girls Don’t Date Dead Men and Nice Girls Don’t Live Forever—was released in 2009. A fourth and final installment, Nice Girls Don’t Bite Their Neighbors, was released in 2012.
Gosh, we all seem to be admitting our ages…and I hate that I am at the point in life when admitting my age is a “thing”…whodda thunk it? I was kind of hoping I would remain 21 forever. However, I have moved out of that New Adult stage of my life and am now strictly in the Contemporary Romance age zone of 28. I would prefer to be in an Urban Fantasy arena, but I don’t think I own enough black leather. However, I could probably squeeze into some PNR, I am fully prepared to give a horn job to my favourite demon, or suck on my sexy vamps…fangs and I am definitely up for some heavy petting with some fine looking shifters. Than again their’s always Sci Fi…I am fully prepared to do the right thing and help some poor alien race with more 6 packs than a supermarket repopulate their planet. Not that I am loose woman or anything.
Annnnnd I will stop myself there, before I start waxing lyrical about my love of historical romance and fantasy as well; no one needs to know about my elf fantasies. As you can tell, I adore and day dream about most romance genres, and my three big loves are 1) reading about romance 2) writing about romance and 3) talking about romance with my gals. Which, is why I love Under the Covers so much, I get all my bookish needs satisfied and don’t get judged when I talk about my favourite characters like they are real people. Which they are right?
I don’t primarily read this genre, but that title made me take a closer look :0) It sounds fun and I might have to add this one to my reading pile. Great review, thanks!

Nice review babe!
This sounds fun and a nice read to break up something darker and heavier like those things to ‘cleanse the palette’ between courses.
I have always wanted to travel to Alaska so that part sparks my interest too.
Thanks for the review!
I really enjoyed this book. I need to read the 2nd one soon.
