Review: Heavy Issues by Elle Aycart

Christine Sheridan has decided under the influence of tequila and one too many boyfriends going bad, that she is done with men. Or at least with the relationship side anyway, what she needs is sex. Out of this world, hair pulling, body melting sex and the only way to do it is to hire a professional. Cole Bowen doesn’t do relationships, he doesn’t want anyone least of all a woman having expectations of him, so when he hears Christy, the woman he can’t seem to stop lusting over declaring her need for hot sex, he knows he is the only man for the job.

I love books that have BBW as heroines, as someone who has more rolls than a bakery, I can relate, which is why I got Heavy Issues. And I wasn’t disappointed, not only did I like and empathize with Christy, I pretty much spent the whole of the book mopping up the drool as Cole proceeded to rock my world.

Cole has definitely made it into the realm of my book boyfriends, he had all it takes, a very dirty mouth; a take charge attitude in the boudoir and an appreciation of a woman with hips.

“Cole, this would work much smoother if you remove your hand from between my legs.”

“Why? Are you gonna be talking with your pussy?” 

With Christy, I think anyone who has any self esteem issues, whether related to food or not, would be able to relate to how she feels, everyone has their wobbly days where EVERY pair of trousers they own make their arse look fat. I enjoyed reading about a heroine who didn’t have the perfect body and I liked it even more when Cole was being super sweet and showed her how much he loved her body with his super Alpha Male skillz.

The sexual chemistry between Cole and Christy was fantastic, it reached through the pages and had my eyes glued to the screen as they burnt up the sheets (wall, kitchen table, sofa…). There was also a great emotional connection between them from the very start as they shared their issues, Christy with food and Cole with his mother.

Although what is going to happen in this book is pretty obvious from the start, there are no real surprises, I really enjoyed it. It was smoking hot with a good hero and heroine and I will definitely be reading the next (and I should probably read the first!) in this series.
