Rowdy and Avery wrapped me up in their world. ~ Under the Covers

Rowdy is the bad boy and damaged hero that we all wish we could fix (and enjoy).  I can’t say I was surprised by the fact that I enjoyed his book.  I always love a bad boy and Rowdy did me proud.

He’s had a tough upbringing and a lot to overcome, but he’s gotten himself and his family out of bad situations and made something of himself.  Not always the easy choice and not always the model life.   Avery has actually had the opposite upbringing but recent events changed her life forever and brought her in close proximity with Rowdy.

I love the dynamics of Rowdy and Avery.  From their interactions while working at GETTING ROWDY (the bar) together, their fun banter, the ease with which they are together and the sexual tension and chemistry.  Rowdy has made it clear that he wants Avery from the very beginning.  He’s unapologetic and direct about it, without false promises that he knows at the time he can’t fulfill.  He’s just the reward Avery should give herself for such a long time of hiding and trying to keep herself strong and safe.

The storyline wasn’t the most original and it was a little predictable, just a little twist with the bad guy but not something so far fetched that you couldn’t see it coming.  However, and like with any books by Lori Foster, they are character driven.  Rowdy and Avery wrapped me up in their world.

There are a couple of threads left hanging for other characters that I can’t wait to explore.  And yes, I may have a thing for Cannon.

GETTING ROWDY is another exciting read from Lori Foster and my favorite book in this series so far.

Fave Quotes:

“I like you best when you’re wearing nothing, but you look awful cute in your jeans, too.”

“Not just tonight, Avery.”  Brushing his thumbs over her downy cheeks, he said again, “Stay with me where it’s safe.”
