It took me a long while to get through this book. Not because it was boring or that I didn’t enjoy it. I listened to the audiobook of this story and to be honest, I just may be the slowest audiobook listener in the world. I started this audiobook in July. It is now November.
Despite listening and not reading this book, one thing stands out no matter what way you experience this book. There writing is exquisite. There are so many vivid depictions, so many beautiful professions of love that this book truly feels like a romance novel. There’s class, sensuality and a deep rooted love that I think explains why this series is so popular. Gabriel and Julia travel to Italy where Gabriel has more lectures on Dante.
Having read the first book and listened to the audiobook for the second, I can say that I enjoyed the audio because of the added nuances it provides the story. The narrator is great and that’s a big thing coming from someone who is quite picky about narrators and voices. If you’re a fan of this series or wish to try it out, I would highly suggest trying the audio because it makes it feel more classic, if you can believe it. I look forward to read the next in the series.

I didn’t realize reynard was a man until after I read the first book….he does a really good job capturing the emotions of these characters…hope you enjoy!
i’ve my first audio book but i haven’t started it yet .. i fear i will even slower listener than you 😉
this series was recommended to me but i’m still unsure about it however i’m glad to see that the audio is of quality in case i got addduicted when i start^^

I am not much of an audiobook person (have only tried 1) but I have heard good things about this series. Since it’s a new to me author and the books are on the high side to buy not knowing if I’ll like I’m going to try my library.
