“FINDING CINDERELLA is the book that I didn’t know I was dying to read.” ~ Under the Covers
It is not secret that I devour anything and everything by Colleen Hoover. She could literally make reading the phone book entertaining. There’s something about the way she puts the words on the page that transport you to a different place and time, to a different person.
FINDING CINDERELLA is the book that I didn’t know I was dying to read. And what a nice surprise that was! I always liked Daniel and Six’s characters throughout the Hopeless series but I didn’t have them at the forefront of my mind, biting my nails to get their HEA. Technically, I didn’t even know they would have an HEA.
This story starts in the past and fast forwards to the present. I love how they first “met” without really knowing who the other was. They were there for each other from the heart. No judgement, no superfluous attraction. It was all about who they were on the inside. Six was especially broken at the time, having had the slut label hung on her one too many times and being treated accordingly.
When they meet again, and for real the second time, the sparks are immediate. And their personalities are a joy to see together. They truly are perfect for each other! Like I said, I’ve liked both their characters. But seeing Daniel interact with Six we get to see an even more playful and uninhibited side to both of them. No pretenses, they do what feels good.
This was such an awesome novella that you are given a complete story. There were no holes left in their story. However, I would’ve loved to see them have a full length book! I would’ve enjoyed it just as much because I’m always greedy for Hoover’s writing.
FINDING CINDERELLA might just be the first book by Ms. Hoover that doesn’t make me cry. That doesn’t meant it doesn’t have an emotional twist, but the quickness that it was developed with didn’t let me get as invested enough to tear my soul apart.
If you haven’t read anything by this author, then I’d recommend picking this up (it’s free!). But I recommend more reading them in order. All her books are permanently on my keeper shelf!
