I absolutely adore this couple and love reading about them. They could just be sitting with beers and talking and I would still be entranced by them. ~ Under the Covers

DUTY & DEVOTION is the next chapter in Matt and Evan’s lives. I absolutely adore this couple and love reading about them. They could just be sitting with beers and talking and I would still be entranced by them. They are just so sweet on each other and even though they don’t see eye-to-eye on certain situations, neither of them are afraid to voice their feelings to one another. Michaels writes it so that their relationship seems very much based on trust. I love the devotion that Matt and Evan have for one another. However, that devotion is tested in this installment of the series when an ex lover, Jim Shea is brought back into the mix.

If you’ve read LOVE & LOYALTY then you know who Jim is already and would be familiar with Griffin as well. I love these two, but probably not as much as Matt and Evan. I loved the way Tere Michaels was able to integrate these two couples together in a way that didn’t seem too forced. The conflict felt genuine and it was nice to see the bonds of Matt and Evan’s relationship tested. Michaels does this in a subtle way where it isn’t too dramatic, but enough to keep readers interested.

Added to that is the sex that Matt and Evan desperately want but don’t know how to approach. They tip toe around this for awhile until it’s clear that they need to take a leap of faith and simply trust each other. And boy was I happy when they did!

For anyone who is interested in trying out M/M but doesn’t know where to start, I definitely think this series is a nice preview into the world of M/M. Though not heavily sexed up, it does show that romance and love can happen to anyone, not simply hetero couples.
