Jared, Bryson and Walt share a passion for one another that can light a fire ~ Under the Covers

There were three deciding factors that I took in consideration as I picked this book to read: 1) Itโ€™s an M/M mรฉnage and I donโ€™t think Iโ€™ve read too many so far. I could probably count them on one hand 2) itโ€™s set at a horse ranch and 3) itโ€™s written by Lissa Matthews whom I love.

While I liked the idea of the story and enjoyed the initial angst that comes with loving two different people at once, I found that the author seemed to repeat this unnecessary torment until it felt too prolonged for this short story.

Jared, Bryson and Walt share a passion for one another that can light a fire, but Jared canโ€™t see how it is possible to love and live with both of them without feeling conflicted. As I said, initially these emotions are normal and make for a believable conflict. However, after the first sex scene and the supposed acceptance of this, Jaredโ€™s uncertainty seemed to stall the natural progression of this story for me. Many times I thought we were dealing with the same issues at hand.

Lissa Matthews does create some interesting sex scenes for these three men. I liked how she was able to create three distinct characters for these men. It can be so easy to get lost and not tell the difference, but Matthews seemed to do this with ease. Though probably not my favorite of Lissaโ€™s work, I found that I enjoyed the dynamics of Jared, Bryson and Waltโ€™s relationship. The unnecessary angst just had to be toned down a bit.
