Review: Desperate Measures by Katee Robert

I continue my #12reads12friends and this month I picked up this one.  Over the years I’ve stopped (or reduced considerably) how much erotic romance I read.  But I’ve read PLENTY over the years.  I have a few authors I continue to read but otherwise I don’t try new ones (or new to me). Often because I end up rolling my eyes a lot at the plots and the way they’re written. Also, full disclosure, I’m not the biggest person into daddy kink.⁠ I haven’t tried Katee Robert and this series featuring some Disney characters seemed like it would be a fun one to try.  And I’m glad I did, I was hooked from the very beginning!

Somehow I must’ve been in the right headspace for an erotic romance.  While there isn’t a ton of plot to this, I didn’t feel like it mattered.  The author did such a great job at taking us on the journey with the characters that I didn’t need to know so much about the world around them and the criminal activities that obviously some of these characters were involved in.  It is ultimately about the chemistry and steaminess.  And DESPERATE MEASURES is on fire!

All that being said, I enjoyed this a lot. I think Katee Robert wrote the erotic element well, even the daddy kink. I don’t know how she managed it but it didn’t rub me the wrong way.

If you are looking for a pretty quick and super steamy read that will keep you glued to your ereader, then this should be on your TBR! I’m excited to read the next book in the series, LEARN MY LESSON, about Hades, Meg and Hercules.⁠
