I enjoy stories with a lot of angst occasionally.  I have to be in the mood for them though, I guess.  COME TO ME QUIETLY is packed with an air of angst that builds up until you just can’t wait to hear what was the reason for all the drama and self hate.  I just think it was packed on a bit too much.  The only moments of lightness that I found were sexual for the most part.

This was my first read by this author and I have to say I like her voice and her style.  Her writing is effortless and it does take you away, into the story.

I’m a sucker for the stories where the girl ends up with her brother’s best friend, but this goes a step further and gives us the glimpses into the past that show us that Jared has always cared about Aly.  Even from when they were kids.  Sometimes he was the one to care for her even more than her brother.  And then tragedy struck and he went down a dark past.

He’s back now, not knowing why and not planning to stay.  But what he can’t do is avoid his love for Aly any longer.  Even if he meant it to be just a stolen moment in time.  Of course it helps that I think Jared is extremely sexy!

I loved their backstory, I love their current story.  I just wanted them to be more of a couple than stolen moments.  I guess that’s what book two is for though.  This book does end with an HEA even though their story I believe continues in the next book, which was nice to see after all the heartache we went through for a while.

There were so many quotes that were sweet and worthy of mentioning, but I especially loved these.

“Loving someone is one of the biggest chances we ever take.”

“Even if I’d been given a choice, I would always choose to love him.”
