“It had Hallmark Christmas movie written all over it! And honestly, it delivered exactly those feels.”
~ Under the Covers
After I read the first book in this series I had to dive straight into book 2. I loved the premise of a bit of a grumpy hero, single parent, dealing with a hot actress stuck in their small town near the holidays. It had Hallmark Christmas movie written all over it! And honestly, it delivered exactly those feels.
Our heroine, Holly, just got dumped for another actress by her fiancé and she’s driving north to Canada to escape the paparazzi circus hounding her from the fallout. Some peace and quiet before going off on her next big movie deal. And exactly at the time she should’ve been getting married. Garland Grove seems like the perfect little Christmas town to pop in but with her bad driving skills she ends up having an accident and needing to stay for some time while her car is repaired. Of course the car she crashed into is the hero’s and he so happens to own a bed & breakfast.
This book is on the sweeter side than the first one, there’s cookie making and adorable kids, a hero in need of a bit of rescuing, and a Hollywood star with the heart of gold. While the romance felt a tiny bit more subdued, this book had a lot of family and community feel which was really nice. It had Hallmark Christmas movie written all over it! And honestly, it delivered exactly those feels.
