“Calendar Girl was simply fantastic. Not what I expected at all. And I cannot wait to read the next set of books.”
~ Under the Covers
I saw this book in my library’s monthly magazine and the hook they were using was something along the lines as “better than E.L. James’s 50 Shades . . .
Well, I was curious. Very curious.
I am a fan of erotic romance, but have been disappointed lately with what has been released . . . to the point where I found myself bored. What I had been reading was the same clichéd bullshit and wasn’t holding my interest.
But I was out shopping at Target and cruising the book aisle (as I always tend to do) and spotted Calendar Girl, Volume One, in paperback and with a 20% off coupon.
What to do … what to do….do I buy it? Hmmmm…..
Needless to say, I walked out of Target with it and another book . . . lol . . . and sixty dollars poorer.
I started Calendar Girl with very low expectations. I really thought that I was going to read a few pages, put it down, and have buyer’s remorse.
So not the case.
Calendar Girl was simply fantastic. Not what I expected at all. And I cannot wait to read the next set of books.
Mia Saunders is left with no choice but to start working at her aunt’s escort service (Exquisite Escorts) after a loan shark leaves her alcoholic father beaten to within an inch of his life. She is left with a million dollar debt and the threat of having the same things done to her and her little sister, Maddie.
Sounds predictable so far, right?
That’s what I thought.
But what follows is truly a growing experience for the twenty something year old that I didn’t see coming.
Audrey Carlan has crafted a beautiful story that isn’t just about a month of sexy times with super, sexy Alpha males (And they are drool-worthy in every way, girls). Along the way, Mia struggles to keep her heart under wraps, learn to love herself, and gains a couple of life-long friendships that teach her some things about herself.
Calendar Girl is well written, funny, sweet, sexy, and an unexpected treasure.
