Baby, It’s Cold Outside is a great compilation of contemporary short stories by pretty awesome authors. In the exception of Kristen Proby, I have read books by these authors, and I can attest that all are good reads. If you’re looking for a new contemporary author or series, this is a great book to start.
Searching for You by Jennifer Probst
It was a setup by their friends from Kinnections from the start. Stranded in a snowstorm billionaire and womanizer, Dylan McCray rescues the very independent Riley Fox from a snow storm leaving these two to spend time together. Baby, it’s cold, but this couple heats it up fairly quick.
I enjoyed this short story as well as the other books from the Searching For series though I wish it were a bit longer. Dylan was sexy and knew exactly how to satisfy Riley. ‘Twas a hot read!
It’s a Wonderful Tangled Christmas Carol by Emma Chase
This is a novella from Tangled series by Emma Chase. A short Scrooge story involving Drew Evans, his wife and family. If you’ve read this series, you know Drew will be Drew and this Christmas, he will get a rude awakening and realize what is important in his life.
It’s been a while since I read this series and reading this novella reminded of how much I enjoyed Emma Chase’s writing. She reminded me of who Drew is. Whether he’s married or not, he’s still very much Drew Evans that we’ve met from the start of Tangled series. He is still very crude, still very sexy and still very sweet and romantic…when he wants to be.
Saving Grace by Kristen Proby
Okay, I lied, I do have a fave but not by a landslide, but Saving Grace do top the rest of the stories. I fell in love with Grace, who is a super shy and super klutzy of her friends. To prepare her for an upcoming bachelorette party, her friends send her to skiing lessons where she meets the instructor, Jacob, who ends up not only her instructor but the rich ski resort owner.
It was love at first sight, and I totally fell for this couple. Grace was adorable at her “plain Jane” persona but sweet and beautiful. The fact that she doesn’t know it makes it even more real. Jacob fell for her quick. There was lots of flirting, lots of falling…in love is what I mean. And overall, a very sweet union. Jacob was uber hot!
Safe in His Arms by Melody Anne
Natalie is a Cali-city girl newly relocated in Montana for her dream teaching job. But being a city girl, she was not prepared for what Montana has to offer. Hawk Winchester, the town’s fire chief, will be the one who will acclimate her to this small town.
This is another novella from a series I follow and enjoy. Natalie and Hawk’s story is another sweet story. Natalie annoyed me at times as she put herself in situations that can be easily be avoided. But given she’s a city girl and with her past, it’s easily forgiven. Lucky for her, Hawk has a heart the size of Texas and he was more than willing to give her anything and everything. Another sexy hero to add to this anthology.
Rekindle the Flame by Kate Meader
Beck Rivera is one of the Dempsey foster siblings from Hot in Chicago series by Kate Meader. This short story focuses on Beck Rivera, who is a Firefighter, who gets a second chance not only in life in general but a second chance with his teen love Heiress Darcy Cochrane.
A second chance at romance gets me every time. When Beck and Darcy are given the chance, you feel the love they once have so, falling in love with them was not hard to do. The time apart from each other gave them the leverage to be on equal footing that I thought was needed before they can be together again. They’re coming together felt like it was meant to be. Enjoyed this couple’s story.
Note: These novellas are now being sold separately which are listed below if you decide to purchase separately.
