Review: Archer’s Voice by Mia Sheridan

I picked this book up on a whim. Although it is technically part of the A SIGN OF LOVE series by Mia Sheridan, I find that this book can be read as a standalone well.

As my first book by Sheridan, I didn’t know what to expect. New Adult is one of my favourite genres and although it can get bogged down by too much angst, I found that the level of emotion you find in this book really matches the author’s voice well.

Archer is the kind of hero that many readers fall for. Quiet, tortured but so deeply romantic that it becomes hard for you not to feel the tugs on your heart as you read about his story. While Archer for me became the sole reason why I enjoyed this book so much, I can’t say that I didn’t also enjoy Bree as well.

Bree Prescott is my kind of heroine. Though she may be a little out of her element in Maine, she still doesn’t allow that to change who she is. When she meets Archer for the very first time, it’s filled with embarrassment and regret, but something about him intrigues her enough that she can’t let go.

Their romance builds beautifully, highlighting the ups and downs of both character’s past. I feel that without the darkness of their pasts, neither of these two characters would find each other in the way that they do in this book.

There is also a bit of mythology involved that I think takes this series to another level. It isn’t simply a contemporary romance, but one that is filled with emotion and depth. I’ll definitely be reading more from Sheridan after this.
