“The story will leave you satisfied with a smile on your face with the funny, sexy and quirkiness that is 16 Marsden Place.” ~ Under the Covers
What a refreshing sweet, funny, charming and cute sexy read. This is my first read by Rachel Brimble. I had to get used to the setting of
the story cause it is set in England and silly me while reading this, I read aloud in a terrible British accent and silly me again, I’m reading my review in a terrible British accent. I triple dog dare you to do the same. 😉 On to the story…
Sienna Lloyd is about to lose it. Her landlord is raising the price of the rent to her lingerie shop to which she can’t afford and she doens’t know what to do. Then a light bulb goes off and she decides to take her business to her home on 16 Marsden Place. Things couldn’t possible go wrong, right. Right?
Enter Jack Beaton, the new neighbor. He’s incredibly good looking, charming and a wonderful protective father to twin daughters who are too adorable. The daughters at times stole the show in the story and I couldn’t help but laugh at their antics. He moved away from the big city to a small town for a fresh start after his divorce and wants to have a stressless and peaceful life.
When the two meet there is attraction but neither want to admit or attempt anything. Sienna is afraid to get close to a man due to what happened to her father and Jack is afraid to let a woman close because of the betrayal of his ex wife. But what is there is there and it can not be denied. When Jack hears that Sienna wants to open her “sex” shop he becomes very upset and does what he can to not let it happen but what he doesn’t know is that Sienna is the sweetheart to the town of Potterford and the residents adore her especially her cliental.
Little by little they let the attraction simmer and they FINALLY get together it’s very sweet and hot. I will warn you that there is one love scene but no worries it’s pretty damn good. What I loved during their courtship is Jack’s daughters reactions to Sienna. One absolutely adores her. The other is hesitant and very standoffish. It’s cute and funny. And also the funny thing is, is that Sienna doesn’t do children so I loved to see her reaction as well and ultimately I fell in love with Sienna and the twins relationship. There’s little drama that comes from Jack’s ex wife that’s resolved but not without a little heartbreak.
The story will leave you satisfied with a smile on your face with the funny, sexy and quirkiness that is 16 Marsden Place.
