“REBEL HARD is the perfect Bollywood rom-com.”
~ Under the Covers

Anytime I see Nalini Singh has a new release, no matter what it is, I feel like I need to jump on it and read it.  I was particularly excited for this one because I really loved the first book in the series and the main characters here are the two best friends of the characters in the first book.  I was also really excited to see Ms. Singh doing a book that dived into modern day Indian culture.

Nayna is getting to the age that her family wants to arrange her marriage and she’s finally agreed to let them.  At the same time, she’s always felt a responsibility for doing right by her family after her sister almost disgraced them in society.  But she also feels the weight of that and wants to be free.  Raj thrives on that sense of belonging and deep rooted family, and that’s because of his hard past.  He wants traditional and quiet.  They are complete opposites from what they’ve always thought they wanted.  And it was so much fun to see them come together and find that common ground and compromise.

REBEL HARD is the perfect Bollywood rom-com.  I had a lot of fun reading it while having all the swoony feels.  It will just put a smile on your face.  I loved the glimpse into another culture that at the same time felt very familiar.  I fell in love with both characters and just wanted to see them find a way to make things work.  Raj is such an endearing hero.  He was sweet and lovable, but also very sexy.  I couldn’t get enough of him.

Favorite Quote:

So he would tell her of his love only in the midnight hours, when she slept in his arms. He’d help her fly… and hope she’d choose to fly with him.

About Nalini Singh

I've been writing as long as I can remember and all of my stories always held a thread of romance (even when I was writing about a prince who could shoot lasers out of his eyes). I love creating unique characters, love giving them happy endings and I even love the voices in my head. There's no other job I would rather be doing. In September 2002, when I got the call that Silhouette Desire wanted to buy my first book, Desert Warrior, it was a dream come true. I hope to continue living the dream until I keel over of old age on my keyboard.

I was born in Fiji and raised in New Zealand. I also spent three years living and working in Japan, during which time I took the chance to travel around Asia. I’m back in New Zealand now, but I’m always plotting new trips. If you’d like to see some of my travel snapshots, have a look at the Travel Diary page (updated every month).

So far, I've worked as a lawyer, a librarian, a candy factory general hand, a bank temp and an English teacher and not necessarily in that order. Some might call that inconsistency but I call it grist for the writer's mill.
