I have been waiting to read Eric’s story since I read the prequel to this series in The Guy Next Door. I loved Eric and Beth in that, I thought they were really hot together and I couldn’t wait to read more.Well, they didn’t disappoint. AT ALL! This was the hottest book of the series. When I say hot, I mean I want my own preppy Eric. How can she make khakis and a polo shirt all of a sudden seem hot??? It’s all that Eric is hiding in that perfectly put together package! The boy has skills.

We learn a lot more about Beth’s background and why she is the way she is. I have to say I felt terrible for what happened to her when she was younger, but the worst part about it was how her own family treated her. She has been hiding what she does for a living from her father, and basically living a double life with her friends. She feels she has to act a certain way, date a certain type of guy, and there’s always an expectation of how she should be.

But with Eric she can just let go, be herself, no matter what he thinks, and enjoy herself. And enjoy herself she does. These two were at it whenever they had a flat surface nearby. Steaming!

I was also in for a shocker about Eric and his own past. I won’t give it away, but I definitely understood more his attitude and behavior throughout the series. I was a bit annoyed at how he treated his siblings before, all the fighting, but seeing it now from his perspective I get it.

Is there still fighting going on? Of course! What’s a good family series without some family drama. The Donovan Brewery is now working on the remodel to put into place all of Jamie’s ideas and heads start butting, and tempers flaring. Kinda hard to avoid when you have two alphas trying to have their way.

What started out as a one night stand with misconception on identities blows up in Eric’s face when Beth discovers his true identity. And from there it only develops further as they are perfect for each other.
