I saw this book recommended on Booktok a while back and then got offered an audiobook review copy from Libro.fm so I jumped at the opportunity to read it.

I’m always on the lookout for wedding themed romance books and a destination wedding in Tulum where the heroine’s sister was marrying the heroine’s ex boyfriend sounded like the perfect amount of drama for me. I’m a sucker for a good destination wedding. I had one myself. And yes, they can be a complete chaos of family drama. I love it!

Janelle is the maid of honor at the wedding and the wedding party travels a week early to Tulum to prepare. Rome is the best man and he’s had a crush on Janelle since she started dating his friend. He always kept his distance but now that she’s free he decides to make a move, even if it’s just for a secret fling before the actual wedding.

Right off the bat, I adored the characters. Janelle is usually straight forward and a lovable character. But she has a lot to learn when it comes to people pleasing especially when it comes to her sister and mother. Rome on the other hand is the perfect alpha. He is determined to see her put herself first, no matter what. I melted a bit more for him with every little gesture he did for her. Plus, we love a hero that isn’t afraid to pick up a steamy romance novel and read with his woman!

While I would’ve loved to see a bit more of the “travel” aspect in this story, I think Only for the Week by Natasha Bishop delivered a great escape of the every day romance plot. And when I tell you these two were steaming hot together, that may be an understatement.

Rome and Janelle are two characters you’ll be rooting for every step of the way. And maybe wanting to punch a few of the side characters in the process.
