ARC Review: One Last Time by Corinne Michaels

I just couldn’t resist the adorable cover! I love to read stories about older characters and I find it fascinating when it’s about a second chance at love. ONE LAST TIME opens up with the tough decision Kristin faces of ending her marriage. She has two kids to worry about and a life to rebuild. A life that she all but forgot how to live for as long as she was married.

I liked her character and could relate to her struggles. Kristin has a new house for her and her kids, thanks to her best friend, and a new job, thanks to said best friend’s boyfriend. Writing for a celebrity gossip blog wasn’t necessarily her ultimate goal in life but she needs the income and will put up with anything to get it. And her first assignment involves interviewing a hot actor who can’t seem to keep his hands off of her.

While it may seem as if this moves pretty quickly from divorce into a new relationship, I was comfortable with the whole thing because Kristin’s marriage was over way before the decision was made. And frankly, Noah had a lot to do with that as well. He’s not the cocky celebrity you would expect. He was actually really sweet! And adorable with her kids! I mean, heart melting over here.

I only had one minor problem with this and it was the conflict keeping them apart in the end. I saw that coming before it happened and I wished there would’ve been something else to throw at them that wouldn’t have been so predictable.

If you are looking for a swoony hero, with mature older characters, then this is a great one. And if you read WE OWN TONIGHT you won’t want to miss this, since this is one of Heather’s BFFs. I’m not sure why this isn’t showing as linked anywhere else. I’m hoping we can get at least one more, maybe two books out of this group of friends in the future. I’ll be waiting.
