“Fans of Mariana Zapata will definitely enjoy this story.”
~ Under the Covers

I’m honestly not the biggest fan of rockstar romances but if Rachel Higginson writes it I have to give it a try.  And this book delivered what I’ve come to expect from this author.  NEVER FALL IN LOVE WITH A ROCKSTAR is a slow burn second chance romance between two members of a band, childhood best friends, that were torn apart by addiction.  The emotional scars that seeing a loved one spiral down that path and how to trust again.  I think Ms. Higginson did a great job at making us feel that without necessarily drowning in the pain and angst.

I don’t want to give too much away in this review and tell you more than that.  Maybe at times this felt like it was low conflict, but the one conflict looming over them wasn’t an easy one to overcome emotionally.  Seeing the success and at the same time the struggle of someone who battled and overcame addiction was also a nice change and I thought was well done.  But you are rooting for these two to get back together the whole time because their story could have no other ending after all they’ve been through together.

Fans of Mariana Zapata will definitely enjoy this story.  It’s a true slow burn romance that focuses on the emotional connection and build up of the relationship instead of the physical aspect.  Which I thought was just the perfect way to tell this story in a way that felt real.  I love the process of song writing that we get to see and even has some kick ass lyrics!  I wouldn’t mind seeing this turn into a series and get more of the band members.

  1. Great review but I am hooked on good R&R romances lately…discovering more and more…Kylie Scott’s, Athena Wrights, Tayrn & Taylor Quinn’s and so many more, well worth reading….Thanks and I’ll be getting this!
