Small Town romance novels always gives me butterflies in my stomach and when I read Marina Adair’s work, the butterflies seem to always have a field day. She has a way of getting to my emotions and it seems to be happening in each of her books.

Adam, the ladies’ man of the Boudin family has an MO of having one to two night stands with super sexy and easy women. Shallow quick relationships is all that this sexy firefighter can handle but after having a moment with Harper one evening, things immediately changed for him. Harper Owens, art teacher also the granddaughter of the town’s lingerie store was just too irresistible for him. Though she was mostly seen as the town’s BFF or just the girl next door, Adam saw so much more in her.

Having the need to have a faux-romance to help each other’s situation, Harper and Adam are forced to spend more time than they ever have the whole time they’ve know each other. Not that they are complaining. It’s obvious they are attracted to each other right from the get go.

I love Adam’s self confidence and his no-filter actions to show his feelings for Harper. His no holds bar when it comes to her was so adorable. It was the sweetest courtship. Harper on the other hand has her head on straight and her priorities are to prevent her Grandmother’s store from closing. But When it comes to managing a store, she has no experience and goes with her experience with love. Because of who she is, she’s determined to do things alone but she’ll soon realize that asking or receiving help is what she needs.

I can relate to Harper in one or more occasions where she was vulnerable and was not seen the way she wanted to be seen. Weather she wanted to be seen as an adult, friend or a sex figure…well maybe just sexy period. I get it, and yes the pain is real. That’s what I love about Ms. Adair’s books, it’s very easy to relate to the characters or the situations she presents to the readers.

The town’s involvement in this book was just adorable. I couldn’t get enough of them especially the rest of the boudin family. The banter between the brothers had me sporting a big grin while I read this book. Trying to hold a laugh was a waste of time. It was such a fun read.

Ms. Adair has a few books/ series in the works. Thus far, I’ve rated her books 4-5 stars and I can safely say she has not disappoint me. So, expectations are high but I’m confident it will be as good as the other if not better.
