“MY BEST FRIEND’S EX is overflowing with mushy-gushy adorableness of the best kind!”
~ Under the Covers

Whenever I see a trope dealing with a friend’s ex, I inwardly cringe because that can go all kinds of bad.  Nevertheless, I wanted to read this because it’s Meghan Quinn.  And I admit, the cover lured me in as well because we all know I’m a cover whore.

I was immediately in love with these characters.  There’s something endearing about both the hero (Tucker) and heroine (Emma) and I liked that their connection was more than just a standard friend’s ex.  They were friends throughout high school as well.  Yes, Emma was the exs’ best friend and when their relationship went south she also pulled back from her friendship with Tucker.  Plus there’s the fact that life has taken both Emma and the ex in different directions so they’re not the constant hang out companions.  I think that all made it much easier for me to cope with this without wanting to beat one or the other over the head.

Now back to Emma and Tucker.  Sweetness and cuteness!  MY BEST FRIEND’S EX is overflowing with mushy-gushy adorableness of the best kind!  Meghan Quinn swept me off my feet and just had me turning the pages so fast I gobbled up this story.  My heart broke for Tucker and what he’d been through and lost.  And it was so great to see him interact with Emma and open himself up.

If you’re looking for a quick read and a sweet story, then this is the one for you.  It has just enough emotional charge and a slow burn romance between two friends reconnecting.
