I feel like Rose from Titanic…”It’s been 84 years”. It’s been too Gawd damn long. Let’s face it, IAD fans have been waiting for this for so long a lot wondered if this series would continue. Okay, I’m a bit exaggerating, but when it’s your favorite series, a year seems forever; four is a lifetime. We all know authors have lives and whatever the delay may have been, we are at their mercy, so we wait patiently. Was it worth it? Damn right, it was worth it. It was like no time had passed. Kresley Cole jumped right back on the saddle, did her thing-a-magic writing, finally released this book, and blew my mind. She brought me back into her world of Lykae, Valkyries, Witches, Demons, along with heartaches, love, and a world full of dangers and excitement. It was glorious.
Munro has been tortured by wizards for years, lost his mate in the worst possible way, and to find her in the worst situation. She is now a mortal who hates and hunts his kind, but his love for her is his only motivation to live. His journey back to Ren is like any other story in this series…pretty darn good.
This book has all the fixings of Immortals After Dark trademarks; the alpha male, strong, kick-ass heroine, sexy scenes, action-packed, mystery, and a whole lot of revisiting old characters you love. While Munro and Ren are the main focus of this book, you know bigger things are happening in the background. Nix, Lothaire, and Ladorada are gearing up their next moves for the Accession, and you will get this feeling that there are big things brewing.
I’ll be honest; in the grand scheme of this world, there are many things that I can’t remember regarding the Accession and important events. The ending had information that ties things up but also left a whole lot of questions and left you wanting more. Welcome back to the world of IAD.
