ARC Review: Man Hands by Sarina Bowen & Tanya Eby

“MAN HANDS is just the perfect romantic comedy.”
~ Under the Covers

Look at that cover!  How can you not want to pick this up after such an awesome cover!  But all that aside, I wanted to get my … hands … on this book since it was announced.  I’m usually picky with my romantic comedies and can be a hard judge because I find a lot of them either fall flat and nothing stands out about them, or they go overboard trying to scream “I’m so funny, look at me!”

MAN HANDS is just the perfect romantic comedy.  It’ll make you laugh out loud, want to be friends with a great group of supportive women and yeah, you’ll swoon too.  The humor in this is so perfect in my opinion without resorting to anything other than clever and witty dialogue and great character development.  The rest felt natural.  I honestly couldn’t get enough of it.

The heroine, Brynn, is a divorced woman who just got laid off from her job thanks to her ex-husbands family.  Her confidence and self esteem is down on the ground and the only thing she’s been happy with is her food blog.  Her friends decide it’s time to push her to live again and dare her to go have wild sex with a complete stranger at a party.  No names, no contact, just sex and walk away.  Except their one hot tryst is filmed and shared online and she finds herself in the midst of a sex tape scandal.  Tom has been doing remodeling shows on TV for years and he just had some terrible personal publicity due to something that happened on live TV.  The only way they can deal with the sex tape scandal is to continue having a fake relationship and hope it all blows away.

Brynn and Tom are so perfect together.  Their personalities mesh so well and I couldn’t help but love both of them.  Tom is not an uber alpha and I love seeing a more beta hero that knows just when he needs to push more and when to stand his ground.  They healed each others wounds just right.  And I also really enjoyed that they both felt like two mature adults even if they may not be your average every day guy or girl.  I’m so over reading the same type of characters that it’s refreshing when we read about people that are at different points in their lives and have their own issues to deal with that we can identify with.

In the end I can only say that MAN HANDS was a feast and I can’t wait for the next book to come out so I can continue visiting with this great cast of characters.
