“They were justย fun to read about.”
~ Under the Covers

I admit it.ย  I was salivating to read this book.ย  In the first book, MAN HANDS, we are introduced to this couple and they basically hate each other and are forced to work together in selling their best friends’ house.ย  I loooove a good enemies to lovers story and MAN CARD delivers on that.ย  But I think in some ways it fell a little short of my expectations in comparison to the first book.

Did I think this was funny?ย  Yes, but not as funny as the first book.ย  Did I think there was some crazy chemistry between Ash and Braht?ย  Yes, but they also got on my nerves a little bit.ย  I was especially annoyed with Ash’s personality because there was another side to her that I didn’t necessarily found as endearing as the image I had of her from the first book.ย  She came across as less than the strong woman I wanted her to be given the situation she had to endure.

And then there’s Braht.ย  I liked him but he’s not the type of hero that would ever go down as my book boyfriend.ย  He was endearing at times and you can’t help but laugh at him sometimes too.

The great thing about this story that kept me turning the pages and smiling was the banter between them.ย  How competitive they are.ย  Some of Braht’s crazy ideas to drive Ash crazy (like the photos while she’s showing the house).ย  They were justย fun to read about.

So while this was a great read to pass the time, it’s not one that I think will stay with me for a while after.ย  However, I’m still excited about this series and I can’t wait for the third in the series.

  1. That’s disappointing when a character is different from how he/she was previously…and not in a good way.

  2. I love to read enemies to lovers books ๐Ÿ™‚
