ARC Review: Love in Spades by Charlie Cochet

Charlie Cochet has a new series called the Four Kings Security. LOVE IN SPADES is the first book in the series. When I heard about this book, I was very excited to read it. Cochet is one of my favorite M/M romance authors and I especially believe that she excels at writing the suspenseful stories.

As expected, this book has a ton of fun banter to it. All of the guys are messing with each other and playing, which was really fun to read. I always enjoy this aspect to Cochet’s books. Secondly, I really like the way Cochet was able to create that bond between all the guys very early on through this. It makes creating anticipation for the other books in the series very easy.

However, my only real complaint about this book is that the author doesn’t really take the time to introduce each character one by one. Instead, they all kind of glide in with a few jokes or snarky remarks within the larger group. The real details of them aren’t fully put out there in an obvious way so although I enjoy them all as a group, I feel like I don’t feel strongly towards them as individuals just yet. I’m sure that will change as more books come out in the series, but that’s just something that I noticed in this book.

I’m very excited for the Four Kings Security series and I cannot wait to see what adventures Cochet takes us on next!
