Let’s Talk Footwear with the KICKING IT Blog Tour

 

We are excited to have here with us two of the talented ladies from the KICKING IT anthology, which releases December 3.  Please help us welcome Rachel Caine and Lucienne Diver!

What footwear is your character wearing in Kicking It?

Rachel Caine: Cursed cowboy boots. Which might be redundant.

Lucienne Diver: My character is wearing silver stiletto boots with Plexiglas heels.  They are her idea the way the Wicked Witch of the West would embrace dancing in the rain with her flying monkeys.

What color is your favorite pair of boots?

Rachel Caine: Red!

Lucienne Diver: Black. My favorite pair would have to be the thigh highs.  I think my husband would agree.

What type of boots do you prefer? Cowboy boots? Riding boots? Biker-boots? Over-the-knee dominatrix boots? Do share!

Rachel Caine: I think they have to be situationally appropriate. You don’t wear dominatrix boots to a rodeo, do you? Well, maybe you do, because now I want to write that story. But I quite enjoy riding boots and swashbuckling boots. With swash, and buckles.

Lucienne Diver: Over the knee dominatrix boots. Come one, admit it, anyone shocked?

Why did you choose those boots for the story?

Rachel Caine: It’s set in Texas, and cowboy boots seemed appropriate. Plus, I’d just seen someone wearing truly ancient, weathered old boots, and I wondered about them.

Lucienne Diver: When you’re going Fembot meets alien queen, what else is a gal to wear?
