Welcome to UTC, Marie! Congrats on your new series! The McCauley Brothers series sounds delish! For readers unfamiliar with it, could you tell us more about this series?

In the McCauley Brothers series, four eligible—no matter what they think—bachelors find love and lust with four women who’ll show them what it means to give, to take, and to forgive. And to pay attention when it comes to breaking the rules.

THE TROUBLEMAKER NEXT DOOR is the first book in the series and will release in June 2014. What kind of mischief can we expect Flynn to encounter in this book? 

Flynn has to deal with a temperamental redhead who has no plans for more than anything casual. At first that’s not a problem, but when he finds himself falling for her, he has to get tricky. Then there are his interfering brothers, his conniving nephew, and his mother who wants more grandchildren—all things to be wary of. It’s like an obstacle course to love. J

How many books are planned in this series?

Four. One for each McCauley (and that includes Brody). They release from June through November of this year.

What’s your favorite thing about the hero and the heroine?

I love that Maddie is independent and such a hard worker. Hard work should be rewarded. And that Flynn might be sexy and handsome, but he’s a genuinely nice man when it counts—he loves his family and of course, his mother— but he’s not so nice in bed.

If you summarize this book in a tweet what would it be?

Keeping her relationship strictly casual—strictly sexual—is all well and good until stubborn Maddie falls for Mr. Right.

You write in different genres, but what’s your favorite thing about writing contemporary romance and the McCauley Brothers?

I love the camaraderie and affection the brothers share. They come from a tight-knit family, and as much as they can aggravate and annoy one another, they’re always there to lend a helping hand. Plus, all four of them are super sexy.*big grin*  Contemporary romance is a nice change from other genres because it has rules. No fangs, guys sprouting fur and claws, or people flying. Yet it’s stil a flexible sort of reality. 😉

When writing a series about siblings, what do you think is the most important thing to keep things fresh?

That each brother be similar yet different. You can’t have the same conflicts and characteristics repeating, because everyone’s an individual. However, you also need to make sure some things stay the same—as in, if Flynn has green eyes in book one, he’d better still have those green eyes in book four.

Let’s get to know you better!  What are 5 things about yourself that would shock readers to find out?

• I like Anime.
• I can sleep all day and sometimes do.
• I watched all of Dexter Season 1 in a 24-hour period.
• I don’t trust anyone who smiles all the time.
• My taste in movies is sadly the same as your typical 17-year-old boy. Gratuitous sex and violence all the way. LOL

What are you currently reading?

I just finished Jennifer Estep’s Poison Promise. It was awesome!

What are 5 things you can’t leave home without?

• A pen
• A tiny pad of paper
• My iphone
• Packets of Truvia
• A hair tie
