~ J. KENNER ~
Congratulations on your upcoming release, Tame Me! Stark Fans are, of course, thrilled about this. Can you tell us a little about this book?
Thank you!!!!!
And yes, I can absolutely give you some deets!
This is Jamie’s story — she’s Nikki’s best friend (from the Stark Trilogy). I love Jamie – she’s a little crazy and a lot of fun, but she’s got issues, the most prominent being that she’s a bit of a wild child. The story takes place right after Take Me (Nikki and Damien’s epilogue novella) and Jamie is about to head back to Texas to “get her shit together” and Nikki/Damien are on their honeymoon
Jamie has had her eye on Ryan Hunter for a while, though, and he on her. Hunter is the head of security for Stark International โฆ and though the two have been interested in each other for a while, nothing has happened. Until now.
What made you decide to pursue a spin off stories of Stark Trilogy?
I love these characters and the world! It was just a natural move, LOL!
Totally off subject, what does your daily routine look like? Would you like to share?
Wild and crazy!
I tend to work late, so I usually roll out of bed about the time my husband is getting the kids off to school. I have coffee (then more coffee, then a little more coffee). I usually review emails first to see if there are any crisis, and then I sit down to write for a while. How focused I am depends on how close deadline is! The working day consists of pretty much everything you can imagine. Planning books, researching books, writing books, revising books, reviewing edits, copyedits, page proofs. All the stuff that it takes to get the words to the page.
But that’s not all. Because there’s also interacting with readers on Facebook/twitter/social media. And putting up content on the blog. Sometimes I need to deal with covers for the indie stuff that I’m doing (primarily backlist, but I have a few indie front list books on the horizon). Dealing with swag for conferences and stuff. Responding to emails, planning workshops, responding to emails from publishers, other authors, fans, other miscellaneous folks. My husband helps me out with the “administrative” type stuff now, and that has been a huge help!
None of that stuff is during any set time, though (except when a book is getting close to deadline the words come really fast and I will live it 24/7 (literally) and everything else seems to drop off the planet).
And, of course, there’s other life stuff: hanging with the kids, working in the yard, laundry (bleh), cleaning, etc etc. etc.
If it’s not a crazy deadline, my husband and I will usually relax in the evening with wine and cheese and the TV (current fav is The Americans).
Describe how your office looks like. (Pictures?) Does your surroundings affect how you write? Do you have any rituals or requirements?
No rituals or requirements except that I need to write on MY computer (tried to borrow my husband’s once and hated it!) and I have to type. The words used to flow with a pen, but now my creative process is tied to my fingers on a keyboard!
I don’t think my surroundings affect *how* I write, but I do tend to pick a place for each book. Some have been at the kitchen table. Some on the couch. Some at my desk. Some in my arm chair. Some at Starbucks.
When you write, do you map out the events in your book or just go with the flow?
I do both. I always start with a synopsis, usually pretty detailed, where I plan out the story in narrative format. But then when I actually get into the writing I rarely look at the synopsis again. I will think and make notes about scenes/plot points that happen later in the book and make notes in the appropriate place. And I will often “shorthand” a scene in order to get all the story that’s jumbled in my head out and on paper, and then go back and edit it later.
Tell us what you love most about your fans. Any crazy experience with any of them youโd like to share?
I LOVE my fans!!!! I love chatting in person, on social media! I love how excited the fans get about characters that they love as much as I do. It’s fantabulously awesome!
No bad crazy at all, but lots of “fun crazy” stories! I have some twitter fans who have become great friends even though we haven’t met in real life. I even added emoticons to Claim Me because I was loving interacting with them on Twitter!!
And one time I was checking into a hotel and the clerk was a fan. That was especially fun because she was so excited โฆ and my daughters were with me and they were like, “Mom! You’re cool!”

Aspiring actress Jamie Archer is on the run. From herself. From her wild child ways. From the screwed up life that she left behind in Los Angeles. And, most of all, from Ryan Hunterโthe first man who has the potential to break through her defenses to see the dark fears and secrets she hides.
Stark International Security Chief Ryan Hunter knows only one thing for sureโhe wants Jamie. Wants to hold her, make love to her, possess her, and claim her. Wants to do whatever it takes to make her his.
But after one night of bliss, Jamie bolts. And now itโs up to Ryan to not only bring her back, but to convince her that sheโs running away from the best thing that ever happened to her–him.

Excerpt – NC-17
We’re well matched in height, and I only have to rise up a little on my toes in order to claim his mouth with mine. I close my hand over the steel of his cock and feel it twitch under my touch. I hear his moan, and it only makes me wetter.
His hands twine in my hair, pulling me closer as he deepens the kiss, fucking me with his mouth, going deep, making me wet, so incredibly wet, so that all I want is to slide my hand into his trousers and free him, then fall onto the sand, yank my dress up, and scream as he fucks me harder than Iโve ever been fucked in my life.
I am gasping when he breaks the kiss. Iโm alive with need, my breasts aching for his touch, my cunt throbbing with demand. Iโm wild, desperate, and when I see the matching wildness in his eyes, I know that this is going to be one hell of an amazing morning.
โAll right,โ I say again, my voice breathless and heavy with longing. โThat was me, making a move.โ
โAnd this,โ he says gently as he takes a single step away from me, โis me, saying no.โ
