~ EVE LANGLAIS ~

Hi Eve, welcome to Under the Covers and thanks for being part of our ย  After Dark event!ย  How would describe your Furry United Coalition (FUC) series?

Completely over the top, humorous romance. It’s meant to make readers giggle and fall in love with outrageous characters, features an insane plot and shapeshifters of every sort.

Who has been your favourite couple to write about and what sets them apart?

Miranda and Chase from book one, Bunny and the Bear, will probably always be my favorite FUC couple because writing their story was so easy. And even though I’ve read it probably a hundred times at this point, I still laugh out loud at some of their dialogue. I consider it the best blend of humor and sizzle.

When sitting down to read your new book /Doe and the Wolf /what would be the perfect food and drink accompaniment and why?

Um, I wouldn’t recommend any food or drink because you might snort at an inopportune moment and shoot liquid out your nose or spew crumbs all over the place when you laugh out loud lol.

Your FUC series isn’t the only one you write, how do you keep track!? And what inspires you to go from sexy shifters to hot aliens?

I don’t know how I keep track lol. I do have a pile of little stickyย  notes that I jot stuff down on for each book and I use those to keep character details straight. Other than that, I kind of rely on my memory and mental image of each place, and keep adding to it lol. As to why I like to switch from shifters to aliens from time to time. There is life out there. I’m convinced of it. And it’s gotta be sexy, cocky, and always in search of a hot human woman to seduce. lol. Seriously, I love the concept of creating new races and places, as well as whole new cultures. Space is the wild west for a writer where the possibilities are endless.

If you had to pick between being abducted by a sexy alien or kidnapped by a gorgeous shifter, what would you chose?

Alien!! I mean seriously, I’m a girl who loves technology, so an alien spaceship with cool gadgets, strange new worlds, exciting adventures…Beam me up, any day ๐Ÿ™‚

Your books are a fantastic mix of funny and steamy hot romance, do youย  find it hard to inject the humour into your writing?

It depends on the story. With my FUC series, the world, the characters and the general story arc make it easy to get my silly on. But when I write stuff for my cyborgs, or Pack series, I often need to rein back in the over the top comedy and deal with real issues. With my Cyborgs I have to get them to deal with their re-emerging humanity and the harsh hand dealt to them. In Pack, we have
the emotional conflict of balancing the feelings and jealous needs of a threesome or foursome trying to coexist, as well as females who often never imagined a happily ever after with more than one man.

What do you have to have when you are writing, are there any essentials that without you can’t write a word?

I like it to be quiet. Music is okay, but I really work best in silence. I also love a good bag of chips. All that salt gets my creative juices flowing lol.

What can we expect next from you?

I’m currently halfway through the next Freakn’ Book which I hope to get out in the New Year. But before that, I’ve got a new menage coming out in December/January, which I will be unveiling shortly. Then I’m planning to work on Seth, the next Cyborg and hopefully Pack #4. It’s going to be a busy winter for me, but a hot one for readers lol.

DOEWOLF

What happens when a predator falls for his prey?

Bounty hunting is the perfect job for a maverick wolf; flexible hours, decent pay, the thrill of the chase. But Everett never counted on a doe stopping him in his furry tracks.

Dawn was a prisoner of Mastermind and ended up experimented on, against her wishes. On the run from Furry United Coalition agents, she ends up in the armsโ€”and bedโ€”of a lupine bounty hunter. Instinct tells her to run when she gets a chance because everyone knows not to trust the big, bad wolf, but her heart begs her to stay.

When the result of genetics gone wrong rears its mutated head and threatens both of their lives, will they manage to survive and discover if a wolf deserves a happily ever after?

Hello, my name is Eve. I’m a stay at home mom who works as a webmistress/customer service rep. In between juggling my three kids, hubby, and housework, I write romance–usually with werewolves or aliens lol.

Born in British Columbia, as a military brat, I have lived a little bit everywhere–Quebec, New Brunswick, Labrador, Virginia (USA) and finally, Ontario. My family and I currently live just outside Ottawa.

I love to write, and while I don’t always know what my mind is going to come up with next, I can promise it will be fun, probably humorous and most of all romantic, because I love a HEA.

Thanks so much for coming by and checking me out. If you’d like to know more, read some excerpts or find out what’s coming next, then please visit me at www.EveLanglais.com

bunnybear

Whatโ€™s a poor bear to do when all he wants is some sweet, bunny pie?

Bears and bunnies arenโ€™t supposed to mix, or thatโ€™s what Chase keeps telling himself when his bouncy new neighbor wonโ€™t stay out of his businessโ€”and his mind. However, the more he gets to know his overly perky neighbor, the more he craves herโ€”naked in his graspโ€”a desire worse than his addiction to honey and pie.

Mirandaโ€™s on a mission for the Furry United Coalition, and it involves secretly guarding one grumpy olโ€™ bear. Staying focused on the job isnโ€™t easy when all she can think about is turning his frown upside down, a task made harder when she gets a glimpse of his passion. When she hears about his theory on woodland creatures and predators not mixing, she thinks all is lost, but she didnโ€™t count on a bearโ€™s curious natureโ€”and possessive need.

When an evil force abducts Chase, Miranda unleashes her bunny in order to save him, but the revelation of her shifter side puts her in danger. Is one ornery bear enough to save her from a mad scientist? And if he does, can a bear forget her woodland creature status long enough to love her and make her his mate?

Warning: Pies were harmed in the making of this story and naughty references made about honey that might offend some readers

  1. Hot shifter!! I wouldn’t trust an alien with humanoid form… I bet that is not his real body… It’s a trap!!! (Ackbar’s voice XD)

  2. I would prefer to be kidnapped by the gorgeous shifter. There was not a seconds hesitation for me.

That would be my choice hands down.

  3. It’s hard to answer the question when I can’t stop laughing! I think I would go with a sexy shifter if I had to choose.

  4. I would have to say a Sexy Shifter for me too!! Butโ€ฆif they’re smokin`HOT like most of Eve’s characters, I could be persuaded either way. *winks*

  5. Love this series!! The bunny is a great start! Not competing since I already own this book – but Happy Reading to whom ever wins it! =)
    Happy Monday!

  6. Definitely by a gorgeous shifter. An alien would be a little scary since I wouldn’t know what I was getting into. Plus shifters are warm, sexy and loyal. ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. Gah, either could be dangerous, but that would go a long way toward keeping things interesting. I’ll say … sexy shifter! There might be times when having, say, a bear on hand would be verrrrry useful.

  8. I would choose a sexy shifter. I haven’t read any of Eve Langlais’s books, but Bunny and the Bear? The title alone sold me.

  9. Beam me up indeed! I, too, would love the technological aspect. I hope it would be exactly like Star Trek: The Next Generation! And I hope the alien looks exactly like Tom Cruise! (Top Gun Tom Cruise…not Vanilla Sky Tom Cruise).
