– I love hummingbirds
– I’m scared witless of spiders. I tried to get out of a moving vehicle because a spider was on my husband. 🙁
– I must have a beacon on my house for stray animals of all kinds – dogs, cats, homeless baby squirrels
– I’m half Cajun and take after that side of my family almost exclusively
– I love old/antique cars and muscle cars
What inspired you to step away from the Dark Sword series and begin a new saga with the Dark Warriors series?
Well, it wasn’t stepping away, really. The Dark Warriors series is a continuation of the Dark Sword series. A few of the Warriors are sent forward in time and the books begin to take place in modern day Scotland, which is why the series name changed, but its still the same characters and same storyline.
Since you write series that connect with one another, how do you figure out which character gets the next book?
lol. I don’t. My characters decide that. I might try to squeeze one in, but ultimately they decide who gets the next book.
Can you give us a peek into the day of a writer? Do you write every day? If so, for how long?
I write Monday – Friday, and only on the weekends if I’m behind, which is rare. I write from the time my kids leave for school until they get out doing various things, but first is getting my 20 pages written. Then I have promo to do, emails to answer, packages to mail, edits, revisions, galley proofs to look over, covers to talk to my editor about, phone calls with my agent, etc… It never ends. 😉
If we were unforgivably rude and pulled five things from your purse, what would we find?
My iPhone, a stack of coupons I always forget I have, my iPad, my wallet, a bag of various lipstick/lipglosses.
Which paranormal creature is your favorite and why?
Oh, easy. Dragons. I’ve always been fascinated by them, and even wrote about them in a couple of books. But I always wanted to write an entire series based on them. Thankfully, my publisher gave me that opportunity with the new Dark Kings, a spin off of the Dark Warriors series. 🙂
