~ CAT DEVON ~

Hello Cat and welcome to Under the Covers!  Congratulations on the release of LOVE YOUR ENTITY!

For readers that haven’t heard of this series, tell us a bit what it’s about.

Sierra Brennan can inherit her great-uncle’s historic Chicago townhouse under one condition: She must live there for thirty consecutive days. What could possibly go wrong? As a writer and a ghost whisperer, Sierra has a vast imagination and a brave spirit. But not even she is prepared for the gorgeous—and naked—vampire who greets her at the door. Ronan McCoy has spent the past century waiting to come home…to this house. The presence of the beautiful, brazen Sierra is one complication he doesn’t expect. The other is Hal, a dangerous ghost and original member of Al Capone’s gang who’s dead-set on revenge. What is a formerly indentured vampire supposed to do to get a moment’s peace? All he knows for sure is that he must protect Sierra from Hal. But once he has her in his arms, can he ever let her go? Life—and love—is becoming stranger than fiction for Sierra…and more delicious than she and Ronan could have ever imagined.

LOVE YOUR ENTITY is the third book in your Entity series.  What can we expect in this latest installment?

You meet a new hero, Ronan a formerly indenture vampire.  And you get to see a LOT of him as he is nude when the book opens! You also get to meet ghosts Ruby and Hal.  But you will revisit characters from previous books like Damon and Zoe (from THE ENTITY WITHIN) and Daniella and Nick (SLEEPING WITH THE ENTITY) as well as Pat and Bruce and Tanya. I’ve had several reviewers say this is their fave book yet in the series! It’s the first to receive a highly-coveted Starred review from Library Journal.

Do you take inspiration from real life to write your stories?

I wrote this while my big brother was going through some life threatening health issues so it was an emotional time, especially since the hero Ronan is trying to save his sister’s soul.

Any fun tidbits you’d like to share?

I had fun with Ruby the ghost and her dialogue.  I also had fun with writing some of the drafts that Sierra was working on for her new book.  Also had great fun including my publicist Katie as the heroine’s awesome publicist!!

We love getting to know authors better.  Tell us five things about yourself that would shock us and are not commonly known.

I’m afraid of heights

I love the Alps and the Canadian Rockies!

I’m afraid of spiders

I adore homemade tollhouse cookies

I love the ballet

My favorite song this year is OneRepublic’s COUNTING STARS

  1. Cat Devon is a new to me author, I like that the interview stated past characters play a part in the current books.

    1. Yes, you definitely see past characters – other inhabitants of Vamptown. Daniella, the cupcake maker heroine of the first bk, and Zoe, the artisan soapmaker and the vampires in their lives. And the secrets these women have….as well as Sierra the ghost-whispering writer and Ronan the naked vampire As the country freezes up with record-breaking cold, these books could keep you warm 🙂

  2. Hi Cat,
I absolutely loved the first two books so I can’t wait to read this book. I can’t think of a better way to meet a hero than him being naked 🙂

  3. I don’t like spiders either and heights bother me now but when I was young I was of course, invincible 😉 This sounds like another terrific read. Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed the post.

  4. I loved the interview. I cannot wait to meet these new characters. While I’ve dealt with ghosts, I don’t think I’d handle a mafia ghost too well. That’d be well out of my comfort zone. I sincerely hope your brother is healthy; I know what it’s like trying to function while a sibling is fighting for his/her life. It’s virtually impossible, though the distraction may seem welcome at the time. I admire your dedication in all things. You are such a supremely talented person. I am also afraid of spiders (“terrified” is a better word) and of heights. I’m also afraid of depths, since they are simply heights inverted. Thank you for letting us get to know you a bit better. May 2014 be your best year yet.

  5. A ghost-whisperer and a vampire – that’s an interesting combo that leaves a lot of possibilities!

  6. This sounds like a fun series! So glad I stopped by the blog today. Now I have a new author to read in 2014!

  7. I love the Entity series. It is so unique and different. The first two books in the series were fantastic and I have eagerly awaited this one. I can’t wait to read it. Thanks for the giveaway and great interview.

  8. Loved the interview! I can’t wait to read this one, it looks to be right down my alley. Ghosts and vampires?? What more can you ask for in a book? Thanks for the great giveaway.

  9. Very excited to read this one. I have loved the other books so far. The characters are awesome and the stories are always interesting. Thank you for the giveaway chance and Thank you Cat Devon for another chance to read about Vamptown.

  10. I’ve read the first two books in the Entity series and really enjoyed them. Cat creates a wonderful quirky set of characters that had me rolling. I also love the way the relationships develop in the stories. Looking forward to meeting the new characters and catching up with some favorites from the previous books.
