“I’LL BE HOME FOR CHRISTMAS is packed full of holiday spirit and cheer.”
~ Under the Covers

I’LL BE HOME FOR CHRISTMAS is packed full of holiday spirit and cheer.  Almost to the point of overflowing.  See, this book is set in Twilight, Texas but takes place for the most part at a Christmas tree farm.  Our hero, Joe, has moved back temporarily to help his grandfather run the farm after he had a heart attack.  Thinking he shouldb be focusing solely on business he runs into trouble in the shape of a beautiful city woman who happens to be living at his sisters’ house.

Gabi was looking for a place just like Twilight to spend a perfect Christmas ever since her brother had given her a snowglobe with an image of it.  Daughter of high profile lawyers who want her to follow in their footsteps but aren’t much about showing emotions, she has never experienced that magic of Christmas.  So she decides to swap houses with a woman she had been chatting with online ever since meeting on Pinterest.  Just like the movie Holiday!

Twilight is the perfect little small town for my favorite type of holiday reads! There’s snow, a loving and a bit meddling family, and two people thinking they’ll have a holiday fling but end up falling in love.  Nothing better to warm he cackles of my heart.  This book especially left me feeling full of Christmas spirit.  It was sexy when it needed to be and the characters were developed well.  Nothing felt too rushed. Even, and this surprises me, the I love yous in the end!

I think the author dealt with the fact the hero has ADHD well, she didn’t just throw that in and push it aside but also showed how Joe copes with small things that can make his life easier.  The heroine is also going through some growing pains having just dropped out of law school and trying to figure out what really makes her happy and what she wants to do with her life.

This was my first Lori Wilde read but I’ll definitely be on the lookout for more of her books now and I’ll be revisiting Twilight to see this small town from a different perspective.

  1. I read this and enjoyed it thoroughly. Thanks for the review. For those not familiar with Lori’s work, generally the stories run a bit longer with a little more development but his is still quite enjoyable.
