“This holiday cowboy theme is a revenge of the nerd story that will have you cheering for the hero.”
~ Under the Covers
If Santa Were a Cowboy is a sweet novella from Melissa Cutler’s One and Only Texas series. This holiday cowboy theme is a revenge of the nerd story that will have you cheering for the hero.
After so many years of being ignored, Paul finally gets a chance with the girl of his dreams since high school. He since then had changed his image and persona and now he is ready to make his move. He’s ready to let his old crush who he’s become and is well worth her time.
And after a run of bad luck, Kelly tries her chance at making things right with a boy she’s always had a crush on. While at it, hopefully, will bring her a job that can get her life back on track.
Though this novella was enjoyable to me, it did not live up to the full-length books in this series which I’ve rated 4 and 5 stars. I didn’t agree much with the heroine’s choices in life and her timing to wanting to find love sucked. I thought her searching for love at this time was her way to get out of her financial rut. I would’ve liked a more strong independent heroine deserving of a good hero such as Paul. Don’t get me wrong, this novella was a fun, hot, and a sweet read. It’s just not what I expected.
The Christmas theme was light and I thought this book would be a good read for anyone wanting to get a head start with the holiday spirit. Overall, I rate the series four to five stars and it’s also one of the series I always recommend to my friends.
