ARC Review: Fast Burn by Lori Foster

I was really thrilled for this to be Sahara’s book. She has an interesting situation as the boss of Body Armor, an elite bodyguard agency. But she wasn’t the original owner. Her brother was. Now that he has gone missing, Sahara is the one running things. She is looking to add another member to her team when Brand Berry, but he isn’t as accommodating as she wishes him to be.

It’s generally a hit or miss for me when it comes to Lori Foster books. However, I found that this book kind of landed in the middle for me. While I liked a lot of aspects, including the hero and heroine, some other areas were a little flat. I mainly think the pacing was a little slow, especially at the beginning. This is concerning for me since this is meant to be a Romantic Suspense novel, so pacing is always key.

But the romance between Brand and Sahara does kind of make up for it. I enjoyed their banter and I especially love Sahara’s strong personality. We don’t get to see heroines this competent and up-front in romance novels so I really appreciate the author for creating someone who is so strong and independent. Sahara is definitely a heroine I would love to be friends with.
