Hi Lisa welcome back to UTC this month for our Burning Up July event!

Tell us a little about Escaping Reality.

This is a new adult that is a sexy mystery like INSIDE OUT but a completely different storyline and the characters are VERY different. Amy is much younger than Sara from INSIDE OUT in more than age. She had to go into hiding when her family was murdered and she doesn’t know who is hunting her. So she’s had to lead a very sheltered life and yet she is very independent. Enter Liam Stone (rich, successful, confident, good looking) who will make her feel safe for the first time ever. But does she dare trust him?

What’s your favorite thing about your hero that you think will make us fall in love with him?

He protects Amy. He gives her room to have her secrets even though he knows she has them. He knows how to be alpha without being an arrogant ass. And he is generous in all ways, both in passion and in everyday, life.

Tell us what inspired you to write a New Adult Genre novel.

Amy came to me back when I was writing IF I WERE YOU and I started jotting notes about her and her story. I really don’t know what inspired her. She just came to me, and spoke to me. She needs love and deserves it, but her circumstances make it almost impossible for her to find or even believe she deserves it herself.

A lot of your fans are used to the sexy scenes you give your novels. How much smexy can we expect from Escaping Reality?

It’s very sexy. In fact, sexy happens much faster than in IF I WERE YOU. Circumstances sometimes dictate when it happens and Amy is in the right emotional place when she meets Liam to need an escape he is more than happy to give her.

Talking about escape from reality, if you were given a chance to live in a book, which genre would you pick?

I love suspense in my writing but I’m not sure I want to go through what I put my characters through in real life. They shred me when I write them as it is. I like I would like to live a contemporary romance without the danger I put my characters in:)
