I was actually shocked when I found out this book was about to be released. I’m usually in tune to when Ms. London has any new releases as I am a big fan of her Sweet Blood Series. I was smitten to see the very sexy cover taken by photographer/author Jenn Leblanc with model Karrrllll (Okay, Karl not Karrrrrlllll). Well, with that combo, I just had to have this book. As usual, Ms. London did not disappoint and even shocked me with this refreshing and impressive start to a new series.
The Pacificans and Cascadians are two parallel worlds divided by “portals”, an intriguing world of magic and power. Unfortunately, they are not at peace as both are saying they are protecting their own world from the other. As you delve into this good length novella, you will see who is telling the truth.
Both Rickert and Nyla are awesome to read about. They are from opposite worlds but their adventure to get to know each other is sweet and, if I may say, with STEAMY-HOT encounters. Rickert D’Angelus is a Cascadian assassin determined to prevent any Pacificans from entering his world. He is totally alpha and with a Cascadian physique. And when I say physique, I mean not6, not7, but 8+ INCHES” worth of physical make up *wags eyebrows* Yeah, I know…that certain scene won’t leave my brain…don’t judge. And on the opposite world, Neyla is a new Pacifican army with powers. She is also determined to use any means necessary to fight against invaders. Though their differences were worlds apart, their duties as soldiers and stereo types did not prevent them from seeing the truths about each other.
Ms. London’s world of Iron Portal is indeed enthralling. She again brought in an alpha hero to swoon over and a love story to sigh over. And again, she left me wanting more.
