“CAN’T LET GO has the classic Showalter stamp on it and it’s probably one of my favorites in this series.”

It’s no secret that I love Gena’s writing style. It’s fun and sexy, whether it’s contemporary or paranormal, and always brings a smile to my face in the end. The Original Heartbreakers series is packed full of alpha males and I’ve been waiting for this one in particular!
CAN’T LET GO finally gives us Jude’s story. Jude was injured during battle and lost part of his leg. But that wasn’t the only devastating loss he’s had to endure. He also lost his wife and twin daughters to a drunk driver. So much heartache that he’s found it impossible to consider moving on with someone else. His life has been all about his security work, his friends, and some good ol’ brooding. I’ve been dying to see him get some happiness and pairing him with the sparkly Ryanne is just the perfect choice and just what he needed to bring back some light to his life.
Ryanne is a bartender and owner. She hasn’t had much luck in life starting with her mother. Her dreams of traveling the world and getting out of Strawberry Valley are still very much alive and she has her first trip planned and ready to go. But that is all in jeopardy when a rival bar opens up across the street and wants to buy her out. When she refuses, the owner starts putting some nasty pressure on her of the not so legal or safe variety. That’s where Jude comes in when Ryanne hires him to protect both her and her business.
This book had everything I wanted and I expect from this series. It’s sweet and light-hearted but also has a bit of underlying danger that keeps the couple on their toes. The chemistry is on point and I couldn’t have loved them together more. There’s great banter, a natural build up to their relationship that crumbles Jude’s defenses, and there’s even a little surprise about half-way through.
CAN’T LET GO has the classic Showalter stamp on it and it’s probably one of my favorites in this series.

This sounds fantastic. I think I’ve only read a novella in this series, but I wasn’t completely in love. I have read some of Showalter’s YA books, though, and did love them. I should look more into this series.
You haven’t read her paranormal romances either???????
