Sarah Robinson kicks it off to a good start. This first installment of the Kavanagh Legends was a charming and sexy read. Brazen on my part to pick this book based on the cover alone, but I am relieved that the author delivered. I was hooked by the sexy cover and captivated by the knockout story.
Rory Kavanagh, best MMA fighter in New York is down on his luck. After a bad loss, Rory is left battling a bad injury preventing him from fighting again. Meds, booze and women keep him company but being a part of the Kavanagh family, he still couldn’t stay away from the sport. Legends, the local MMA club and gym is owned by his family after all. It’s only a matter of time and an extra push to get him back in the ring.
Clare Ivers is different, and she may be that extra Push Rory needs. She is down to earth, and she put him in his place when needed. She is also everything that Rory is not used to seeing and she will shock him out his stupor. Unfortunately, her past prevents her from making the big step Rory wants. It will get ugly for her before she even gets close to a happy ending. Lucky for her, the Kavanagh clan got her back.
I was sucked in Ms. Robinson’s MMA world. She presented a hero who is both weak and strong making him even more realistic. The touch of addiction was dead on, and the beat part is that though this family has money they are all down to earth. The Kavanagh brothers are Irish by blood and tradition and loyal to the bone. This close-knit family sucked me in with their dedication to each other and their passion for the sport.
The Kavanagh family include Kane, Quinn and Jimmy, Keiran and cousin, Casey. Kieran intrigued me the most. Very little information about him was revealed, but I am curious to find out what the fallout between him and Rory was about. Up next is his book, Saving a Legend release scheduled for March of next year.
