“BEYOND INNOCENCE combines red hot heat with a touch of angst to create the most delicious blend of erotic yumminess.” ~ Under the Covers

After walking out of Sector Five with only a gun, the bloodstained clothes on her back and a handful of drugs, Lili Fleming is finding it hard to adjust to her new life. She takes refuge in the arms of her drugs and when her supply dwindles down to only a couple of pills left, Lili is starting to freak out.

Always a silent presence is Jared who seems to have been watching her from afar. Though they haven’t interacted as much as he would like to, he continues to reach out to her. BEYOND INNOCENCE has that subtle vibration throughout that burns slowly as Lili and Jared explore their feelings for one another. Since Lili is still getting used to being in O’Kane’s empire, Rocha takes small steps before submerging her fully into this tainted, seductive world.

I’m a big fan of Kit Rocha’s writing but found that this book focuses a lot on sex as a way of healing what’s been bothering characters. On one side, I like that there’s a whole lot of heart in these books and that they aren’t just an orgy waiting to happen. There’s substance and worldbuilding and amazingly built characters. However, I do also kind of miss the no-holds-barred kind of sex that was just for fun and not about power or expressing emotions that the first couple of books in the series have. I find that the series has taken on a slightly more angsty vibe as of late so if you’re a particular fan of that, you might enjoy the books.

BEYOND INNOCENCE combines red hot heat with a touch of angst to create the most delicious blend of erotic yumminess.

“Love is strong,” Jared whispered. “It came overcome anything else.”
