~ Under the Covers
This is the first book I’ve read by Sheila Roberts. I honestly haven’t heard much about her, but I randomly wanted to give this book a shot because I liked the cover and sound of the book. However, I will say that this book wasn’t really what I expected.
This is a Women’s Fiction novel and although I have read quite a few different ones over the years, this one seemed a little lackluster for lack of a better word. I was kind of turned off by Moira’s ex in the beginning. I think he’s meant to be nasty but since the beginning, I just found myself not really into the book as much as I would like to be. The concept seemed very promising though, which was why I was so excited, but instead of feeling inspired by the story, I just felt like a lot of it was sad to me.
Needless to say, I was rooting for Moira. Her courage was nice to read about, but I think I would’ve connected with her more if more of her personality was shown. When I finished this book, all I thought of her was that she was nice. I would have liked a better reaction, so I’m not sure if I will continue with the rest of the series. But if you prefer more calm, emotional reads, then this might be a better fit for you than it was for me.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. In women’s fiction I enjoy getting to know the character and following along as that character grows all around.
Thanks for the review.
