LEAH BRAEMEL

Thanks so much to the Under the Covers ladies for inviting me onto their blog today.

When Angela James invited me to be part of the Carina Press erotic holiday anthology, I knew immediately I wanted to write an homage to O. Henryโ€™s Gift of the Magi, where the two lovers sacrifice something thatโ€™s extremely important to them for the love of their life.ย  I wanted it to be upbeat, to take the reader away from some of the stresses the season brings. Enter Ryan who is a sculptor and Meg, who is Mountie. But since Ryan lives in Ontario (which is usually patrolled by the Ontario Provincial police so RCMP postings are rare), Megโ€™s been patrolling up in one of Canadaโ€™s territories along the arctic circle. This year, both of them have made plans without telling the other which normally isnโ€™t a smart thing to do ย but itโ€™s Christmas and for their presents theyโ€™re trying to give each other the best surprise they can. ย After they make up for all the lost nights since theyโ€™ve been apart.

I NEED YOU FOR CHRISTMAS

Ryan Porter is a sculptor, and beneath his callused hands, even the most rigid metals bend to his will. So, too, does his girlfriend Megan–a confident, strong woman who delights in submitting to Ryan’s dominance in the bedroom.

Megan is a Mountie, and she’s spent the past few years in the Arctic following her career dreams. Family obligations kept Ryan at home, but their love survived the distance thanks to several hot visits. A Mountie always gets her man, and Megan is bound and determined to keep Ryan.

Now Megan’s with Ryan for the holidays…but how long will this visit last? She’s always been willing to do anything Ryan desires, but will he finally tell her that all he needs for Christmas is her?

EXCERPT

He lowered her head and kissed the soft skin beneath her ear. โ€œI love you.โ€

I always have. I always will.

Her breath hitched when his hand dipped beneath the water and over her belly. Her legs fell open, pressing against his, as his fingers continued their journey over her mound and between her folds. He toyed with her clit, teasing it until her pulse sped up. When he speared her sheath with two fingers, her hips arched into his hand, causing water to slosh up dangerously close to the top.

โ€œOh God, yeah.โ€ She writhed against him, rubbing her ass against his erect cock in an erotic torture.

On occasion he wished he was a photographer, that he could capture the dreamy expression on her face as she started to come, could forever immortalize the creamy hue of her breasts with their cinnamon nipples now taut and hard. Oh he could sculpt her expression and her face, but it would be hard marble, which couldnโ€™t capture the warmth, or clay, which couldnโ€™t match the softness. But no camera, drawing or sculpture could convey how her body clenched and rippled around his fingers in sync with the soft puffs of breath with each stroke. Nor could they capture the heady scent of her arousal, or the spicy taste of the cream coating his fingers.

Her moans vibrated through him, echoing off the marble walls, until his balls drew up close to his body. Heโ€™d had to satisfy himself with handjobs since heโ€™d seen her last, and as much as he wanted to bury his cock deep in her body, this time was all about her needs, not his.

  1. This sounds like something I need to read to make me all warm and fuzzy during this chilly winter time.
I love Leah’s writing and need to add this to my TBR pile ๐Ÿ™‚ Merry Christmas to me.
The best present I have received? A couples massage certificate for my hubby and me–BEST GIFT EVER–since I spend a lot of time writing and at the computer. And I’m hoping to get another one this Christmas.

  2. Last Christmas I got the newest cd from one of my favorite singers, Michael Buble from my husband AND my daughter ! Ha, ha, same CD from both of them- so I took 1 copy to work to listen to there. Leah, I have read several of your books and liked them- this one sounds yummy!

  3. Thanks again for hosting me — one correction, the giveaway I’m having on my blog is for a Kindle, not a Kindle Fire. (I WISH I could afford to giveaway a Kindle Fire!) And you only need to leave a comment to enter on that contest — unfortunately the Rafflecopter widget didn’t work properly the first day and I ended up taking it down. (But I do have another contest for a print book with a rafflecopter widget ๐Ÿ˜‰ )

  4. I have loved every book I’ve read by Leah and can’t wait to read this one. The best (unexpected) present I ever received was my iPhone a few years ago. Hubby went out and got it on Christmas eve right before the store closed. I remember him keeping me away from my phone all night – telling me it was Christmas eve and I didn’t need to check my texts. The next morning, as soon as I woke up I checked my phone as I always do, and it wasn’t working (because hubby had switched it to the new one). I was all disgruntled and annoyed and then a few hours later I opened the iPhone. He never surprises me, but with that one he really did.

  11. Eeek. Loved that excerpt ๐Ÿ™‚ Definitely adding this one to my TBR list. Hmmm… A few years ago my mom and dad got me an iTouch ^_^ I was not expecting that one. I remember a month or so before that Christmas day, my mom brought home one of her co-workers iTouch and we got to mess around with it. We thought it was pretty cool. She asked if we liked it and we said yeah, didn’t think anything of it. Come Christmas day, we’re opening presents and inside one of the sweaters fell an iTouch. oh, yeah. I was happy lol. Thanks so much for the giveaway! Happy holidays ๐Ÿ™‚

  17. Hi everyone — what great surprises you have received. Especially since all of them show how much thought went into them. I hope you have a Merry Christmas and a stress-free and happy New Year.

  18. The best present I got that was a surprise was a Kindle last year. I kept asking for one and everyone kept telling me that I wouldn’t like it, so I stopped asking. They were just trying to throw me offtrack. It worked.
    Thanks for the great excerpt.

  19. Many years ago my husband (we were only 2 years into our marriage) went to one of my very favorite stores and bought me a vase to go with our dining room set. I was speechless! First off, my husband went shopping? Wow! Second, it was a perfect match. Finally, the store was a favorite but I didn’t necessarily buy anything there because it was out of budget range. He had apparently been planning this purchase for a while. It was really romanctic.
