Thanks for having me on the blog today! Iโ€™ll do a giveaway at the end.
Iโ€™ve been asked to talk today about what the soundtrack to Mate Claimed might be. Hmm. Thatโ€™s something I had to think about.
Let me say a little bit about the book first:
Mate Claimed is the story of Eric Warden, the leader of his Shiftertown, and Iona Duncan, a half Shifter whoโ€™s been keeping her Shifter side secret.
Eric, a Feline Shifter, knows that half-Shifter wildcat Iona is passing for human, living without a Collar in the human world. He also knows that if she does not acknowledge her Shifter nature and her mating hunger, it could kill her.
Iona finds the mysterious and dangerous Eric, a wildcat and leader of his Shiftertown, haunting her, but she vows never to take the Collar, fearing backlash against her mother and sister for hiding the fact that she’s Shifter. But Eric is a compelling Shifter male, and Iona’s hunger calls to him.
The Soundtrack:
The first thing that sprung to mind was a theme song for Graham, a Lupine Shifter (new to the series), who has been forced to move in to Ericโ€™s Shiftertown. Heโ€™s made it clear he wants to take over, and Eric has his hands full with him. The perfect song for Graham is Bad to the Bone, by George Thoroughgood.
A great song for Iona and Eric is (Kissed You) Goodnight a song by the country group Gloriana. Eric and Iona would do more than kiss (!) but it fits them, and itโ€™s a lovely song. If you havenโ€™t heard it (itโ€™s very new), find it and give it a listen.
A song that conveys the heat between them is Smooth (Santana and Rob Thomas). Thatโ€™s a hot, sexy song, and I can see Eric and Iona dirty dancing to it.
Another very hot song with emotional intensity is Crush by the Dave Matthews Band. I vividly picture Eric and Iona when I hear this song.
Last is a song for Tiger (youโ€™ll meet him in Mate Claimed), who will be the hero of the next release, Tiger Magicโ€”Iris, by the Goo Goo Dolls. I just love that song. So heart-wrenching! And it fits Tiger very well.
Grab a player, listen to songs, and enjoy the book!
Best,
Jennifer Ashley

One thing that I like about this series is that the previous book in the series gives a decent amount of time to set up the couple for the next book.
