“If you are looking for a book that will satisfy some of your own wanderlust without leaving your house then maybe this is the series for you.”
~ Under the Covers
I was super excited to read this book because I love a good recluse grumpy hero. Griffin is that type of guy. He’s recently returned home to Alaska after the military and he’s battling his own demons, grief and sobriety. He’s working with his family as a wildlife guide and has to take a last minute group on a photography tour that was supposed to have been led by his uncle. Part of that group is supermodel River. He’s also dealing with his own issues tied to the lifestyle he’s led up to now. His way of dealing with the excess of that life is to give in to his wanderlust and he’s now working on another book chronicling his adventures.
I’m a sucker for any type of story that can get photography into the mix and I really enjoyed that aspect of this book especially when you couple that with the beautiful landscape of Alaska.
Ultimately what I didn’t love as much was believing the HEA. Both of these guys are dealing with a past of addiction and it seemed a very fragile HEA when they hadn’t really worked out their recovery strongly enough on their own. I would’ve liked to see more of that personal growth (or at least for one of them to be in a much better place, stronger).
Overall this was a sweet romance. If you are looking for a book that will satisfy some of your own wanderlust without leaving your house then maybe this is the series for you.

Photography and Alaska! Sounds great. Interesting about them both struggling with addictions. I can see how you needed to know there was enough stability to handle a relationship.
Yeah, with a topic like this it needs to be believable so they would need to be in a better, stronger position to develop a relationship.
Thanks for the review, I listened to the audiobook and enjoyed it.
